Whisky with cheese, an excellent match.
If you are a keen whisky fan try your dram with some of our cheeses.
The pairings were:
- Connage Crowdie with Dalwhinnie
- Cromal with Clynelish
- Clava brie with Royal Lochnagar
- Connage Dunlop and Smoked Dunlop with the big flavoured Talisker
Peter is hanging the Crowdie bags so the whey can drain from the curd and once we are happy with the texture we then pot. Whilst bagging off the curd early in the morning, there is a wonderful lemony aroma, it still makes our mouths water and ready to reach for a piece of toast.

The team here are delighted with our success this year. Our girls (cows) produce wonderful creamy milk from grazing on our home grown clover rich fields which are high in Omega 3.
This quality is reflected in our cheeses.
Will Studd visit
We are fortunate to have had Will Studd visit us from Australia.
Will has written a fabulous book called ‘Cheese Slices’ and a most interesting and informative read.
Randolph Hodgson OBE from Neal’s Yard Dairy says ’in this book Will deals with the complexities of cheese head-on. He has travelled widely and has a huge amount of technical information at his fingertips. He explores different landscapes, animal breeds and cheese-making, although this is not a technical book.
